Easter Blessings to you and your family! What a special day it is today for those of us who celebrate Easter in it's truest form. This week at the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge it is no different, the lovely Traci has chosen this scripture for us:
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:2-3
Traci's challenge is to make a joy-ful card; something celebratory!
On Easter Sunday, Resurrection Sunday as it is known we celebrate the fact that Jesus Christ has Risen from the Dead. His death on the cross and the shedding of His Blood brought our salvation! He rose from the dead conquering sin and death - what an amazing time in His-story!! What a Saviour! In a world that is looking for answers and for hero's - is there any greater than Jesus - He truly is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!!
Religion is man's search for God, I love the fact that Christianity is the only religion where God reaches down to man - and that makes it personal, all about relationship - a matter of the heart! Knowing this, we can declare:
He is Risen - He is Risen indeed!
This card is for the following challenges:

There is nothing more symbolic, and no greater reason to celebrate than the Cross, especially as we celebrate Easter, It is firstly the place where our Saviour was crucified for all mankind and the forgiveness of our sins through His blood that was shed for our salvation.

Such a beautiful card. I really like the dies that you used, and the embellishments are the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteLinda what truth and beauty, so right, that is what brings the tears to my eyes, that God reached down to us to save us, the distinguishing difference in Christianity compared to any other religion in the world. What a beautiful card to celebrate a beautiful day! Big HUGS this day to you my friend!

ReplyDeletethis card is really meaningful and lovely Linda. I love how the cross is the main image signifying the true reason for Easter. The papers and embellishments you have used go perfectly together :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your family had a Happy and Holy Easter. I was really nervous about Easter this year as it was the first without my dad. We were blessed though and went to a beautiful church service and went and saw "the worlds most exotic marigold hotel" which to me was a movie about renewal, most appropriate for this year.
Thanks for reminding us about the true meaning of Easter.
Thanks so much also for entering your card at Anything goes, Just keep on creating. I hope you will continue to enter your lovely work :)
