Spellbinders Workshops

One of my roles as the Spellbinders International Ambassador for Australia is to teach and educate through demonstrations and Workshops at Craft Stores - both local and interstate.  This is a role I am proud of and love to do - firstly I get to use the most amazing products and secondly I get to meet and work with so many wonderful people...creative people are always so amazing and inspiring.

This weekend I visited Fantasia Scrapbooking and Stamps in Bella Vista, Sydney NSW.  Such a lovely large store and a pleasure to be in.  I have been visiting this particular store for a number of years.  Some of the ladies come to every Workshop without knowing what I am teaching - others are first timers.  The creativeness flows and each person adds their own 'flavour' to their projects - I love that - we can all be given the same products but it is not often we create 'works of the heart' that are the same.

I do like to get group photos and am always amazed at how many of the ladies disappear when the camera comes out - but these ladies were game - others - not so much! LOL!

I run two different Workshops one in the morning and another in the afternoon - with not a lot of time between,  The morning Workshop had a Nostalgic Christmas theme - using some of the new Holiday Dies.  The paper for these cards is from Kaisercraft.

The second Workshop was all about 'Shabby Chic' and we created 3 cards using a lot a big variety of  Dies.  I also use a variety of other products - Imagine Crafts ‘featuring’ Tsukineko; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3LWant2Scrap bling.

The lovely owner of Fantasia - Julie and myself.

Looking for a Spellbinders Die - I believe you may find it here

Spellbinders Christmas in July Workshop and more at Fantasia Scrapbooks and Stamps

It is always exciting to teach a Spellbinders Workshop - as the International Ambassador for Australia, I always love to teach at YOUR Local Store where I can show you what Spellbinders are all about - it has to be said I am SO excited to be teaching not one but two Workshops at Fantasia Scrapbooks and Stamps in Bella Vista Sydney.

Workshop 1 - Christmas in July

Christmas approaches like a train – we see it coming , approaching so fast and then all of a sudden – it has left the station and we are caught up in its wake – does this sound like you – there is a way to avoid it – where cards are concerned anyway – a Christmas in July Workshop...with a touch of fun!  We will be creating luxurious Christmas cards for you to send out to family and friends.  Metals are very in this year and add a beautiful touch of elegance to any project.  We will be using Spellbinders Premium Foils, cutting and embossing – with a touch of sanding for those who dare!  Embossing, stamping with Dies – yes you read that right – and bling!!  This Workshop is going to extend the life of your Dies and M-Bossabilities Folders and inspire you to get those Christmas cards happening – I am looking forward to a great time at Fantasia – and would love to see you there!

Workshop 2:  Create-A-Flower

Flowers are  everywhere and never so prominent as when they are on our cards/projects.  While they are readily available premade, Spellbinders has a whole new range of Dies called Create-a-Flower and they are divine - the range is incredible!  Beautiful dimensional flowers can be created with the Create-A-Flower series.  “Each delicate bloom has realistic features from actual flowers, designed with cutting, embossing and debossing details to bring every petal, leaf and floret to life. Crafters will be able to create amazing dimensional flowers and enjoy beautiful blooms and bouquets all year long with our Shapeabilities Create-a-Flower collection,” said Stacey Caron, Spellbinders President and Co-Founder.

I am looking forward to a great time at Fantasia – and would love to see you there!

Paper Crafts Festival at Penrith

Hello Blog Friends - I am sharing some photos with you from the Paper Crafts Festival at Penrith on November 1,2 and 3.  I was both honoured and excited to be asked to teach some Workshops by the lovely Jane Clark.

While I was there I had the pleasure of having breakfast with Sallianne McClelland from Art-Is You Art Retreats, Sallianne also participated my Workshop - nothing like a little bit of pressure! LOL!

I am grateful that my husband, Rinaldo Di Battista  is a photographer and created these collages for me.

You can get an idea of the Paper Crafts Festival - such a great  atmosphere and so many fabulous people!  I had the pleasure of meeting Greg Sukendro, Photographic Stylist for Express Media - I love the way Greg makes cards look in the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft Magazine - such a talent.

There was something there for everyone - exhibits, demonstrations and so many products to see - check out those gorgeous glass jars full of roses - how I would love to have taken those home!

The bags of goods that left the Paper Crafts Festival were too many to count - some very dedicated husbands were there alongside their wives, helping carry all of the purchases - either that or keeping an eye on how much they were spending! LOL!

I will be back with another post tomorrow sharing photos of my Workshop - I hope you are able to come back and have a look - share in the experience  with us.

Thank you for your comments and all of the support you give me - you make blogging such an amazing place to be!! Your encouragement is such a blessing for me - it makes my day! God bless you!

Spellbinders - Behind the Art - Part I

I am sorry for the lack of posts over the past week - but I have the best reason ever - I have been in Phoenix with at the Spellbinders Retreat and it has been amazing - went too fast but was worth every second of the trip - even the seven and a half extra hours - due to delays!

There are connections that take place in the heart and transcend distance and time.  These connections can come at many levels but stay with us forever.  They happen for many reasons and at times without us being aware of the underlying strength of them, but one thing is certain – they are real.

Social Media has given us amazing opportunities – there are those who say that you cannot possibly have a ‘real’ relationship with someone on  Social Media – I would have to disagree and the Spellbinders Retreat is certainly evidence of that.  Coming together and meeting so many of these inspiring people face to face was amazing – but with many it was just a formality.....as we have already made that heart connection and building a lasting connection.

It is the most amazing feeling to be with so many inspiring people - all with their own unique styles and so very talented.  Each Team has it's specific role - I cannot help but think of the scripture about us all being one body - one is the hand and one is the foot - but cannot say they have no use for the other - they are all made to work together - whether they are a hair on the arm or the brain - each one is just as important as the other and has their own job to do and their own place to 'shine' - a beautifully functioning 'body'!

Each Team had Workshops together and during this we bonded and created. The Spellblogger/ Social Media Team had a lot of fun for the last session - creating a canvas - a first for some of us - me included.  Each person created one layer and then passed it onto the next person to add another layer - we ended up with five unique canvas' - each one being a 'Work of the Heart' and totally unique.

Bringing so many artistic people together is an amazing fete, there has been so much behind the scene work done by so many - too many to mention at this point, but the obvious two are Stacey Caron and her P.A. and sister Cindy Alexander.  They are amazing people and so much fun too.

Friday night was the 'Nerd's Night' and it was hilarious - so many photos to share.  It was definitely time to 'let your hair down'  There are many photos all over facebook - I am sure you will be seeing a few more as the days go by.

I have too many to add to this one post so will be back with Part Two tomorrow - I will be sharing photos some photos of the Classes and of Phoenix itself - I hope you will come back and share them with me. Some of these photos are by Beck Beattie - you can find her here.

Thank you for your comments and all of the support you give me - you make blogging such an amazing place to be!! Your encouragement is such a blessing for me - it makes my day! God bless you!
