Australiana - Escape the Ordinary

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by - The card I am sharing today could not be easier to create -  infact it is the second card I have made recently like this - you can see the first one HERE.

I have used white card stock and sponged with various Imagine co-ordinating inks and Sponge Daubers. I have used shades of green ink along the lower portion, moving up to orange to give the impression of a sunset or sunrise, followed by blues and whites for a cloudy sky! To create the cloudy look I have used some torn paper and sponged the edges if this at random intervals and angels and finished with yellow in the corner.  There is no need to be pedantic amount the background as it tends to merge into the background once the die cut is added.

The die has been cut using black card stock and glued to the  sponged card front, trimmed so it is SLIGHTLY larger than the die cut, to create a fine border and then popped up into a slightly larger pre-cut cream card base using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The sentiment is from the Kaisercraft Sticker Book - Belle.  This has been angled at the left end, adhered onto slightly larger card stock and glued to the card front as shown in the photo above.

This card is linked to the following challenges:

Australiana - Follow Your Dreams

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by - I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  We are enjoying Spring and with it comes daylight savings tonight - we lose an hours sleep - arghhh - well, being honest - it is an hour I lose in The Studio - but rest assured I will be making that up somewhere along the way!! Wink:wink!

The card I am sharing today could not be easier to create - I have used patterned paper from Kaisercraft Misty Mountains - Sunset (6'x6") which already has most of the colours on it - and don't you love those gorgeous autumnal tones?! The purple reminds me of our beautiful plum tree in autumn - it was glorious! I have highlighted the existing colours by sponging with Imagine co-ordinating inks and Sponge Daubers.

The die has been cut using black card stock and glued to the card front and then popped up into a slightly larger pre-cut  purple card base using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The sentiment is from the Kaisercraft Sticker Book - BelleThis has adhered onto slightly larger card stock and glued to the card front as shown in the photo above.

Whale Showers

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  after all of the comments both here and on facebook on the last Whale card I created, I thought I would share the other one I made using the same set - Taylored Expressions Showered with Love stamp set - whimsical is always such a lovely change of pace.

I have stamped the whale using Imagine Memento ink in Teal Zeal, the waves are also in Teal Zeal and the water spout in Tuxedo Black - the hearts have been coloured using Chameleon PensThe cloud is from the Spellbinders Die D-Lites Sun and Clouds Etched Dies - I find that I use this cloud a lot with whimsical images - just the right size!

The card front has been cut using light blue card stock and the Nestabilities Scored and Pierced Rectangles Etched Dies.  This has  been popped up onto a white card base cut/embossed using Nestabilities Fancy Edged Rectangles Etched Dies using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.

The waves have been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors and popped up above the base of the card front also using 3D Foam Squares.  The Whale has been popped up using 3D Foam Squares for dimension.  The water spout has been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors, the hearts coloured and adhered above the whales head using double sided tape.

The sentiment has been stamped using Tuxedo Black ink and cut/embossed using the tag from the Amazing Paper Grace Vintage Elegance Becca Feeken Giving Occasions Stamp and Die Set.  The die has been used as a stencil and sponged using Summer Sky Ink inside the cutting lines.  This has been popped up using 3D Foam Squares centred below the waves.  Imagine irRESISTibles Pico Embellisher in Shimmer has been used to create faux water drops around the water spout and the hearts have also had a coat added - for that extra shimmer.

Whale-come Little One

Hello friends - thanks so much for stopping by.  I have a little change of pace for you today - a friend had these gorgeous Taylored Expressions Showered with Love stamp set and I just HAD TO create something with them - how perfect are they for a baby card!

I have stamped the whales using Imagine Memento ink in London Fog, the waves in Teal Zeal and the water spout in Tuxedo Black - the hearts have been coloured using Chameleon Pens.

The sun has been cut/embossed using yellow card stock and the Spellbinders Nestabilities Fancy Edged Circles Etched Dies and yellow card stock along with the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine - 6" Platform The cloud is from the Spellbinders Die D-Lites Sun and Clouds Etched Dies - I find that I use this cloud a lot with whimsical images - just the right size!

The card front has been cut using light blue card stock and the Nestabilities Scored and Pierced Rectangles Etched Dies.  This has  been popped up onto a slightly larger white card base using  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.   Next the Fancy Edges Circle has been adhered to the top portion of the card base using double sided tape.  The waves have been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors and popped up 3cm from the base of the card front also using 3D Foam Squares.

The larger Whale has been adhered above the waves using double sided tape, the baby Whale popped up next to her using 3D Foam Squares for dimension.  The water spout has been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors, the hearts coloured and adhered above the whales head using double sided tape.

The sentiment -a retired sentiment from Layers of Colour - which sadly is no longer, has been stamped using Tuxedo Black ink and cut/embossed using the tag from the Amazing Paper Grace Vintage Elegance Becca Feeken Giving Occasions Stamp and Die Set.

Blue for You

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  Today I am sharing a slightly 'shabby' card - I have once again been tidying up the UFO's (un-finished objects) that seem to gather on my desk at such a fast rate. As much as I try to clear it all I know that I am really just kidding myself - but I am OK with that! Wink:wink!

The image has been stamped onto blue card stock using Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. It has then been cut/embossed using the Spellbinders Nestabilities Celebrations Pierced Rectangles Etched Dies and the Platinum Die Cutting Machine.

Brown Seam Binding has been wrapped around the lower portion of the die cut image and a double Seam Binding Bow has been glued to the left side of the ribbon, followed by layered flowers o the centre of the bow. This has been popped up onto a card that has been cut/embossed using Spellbinders Nestabilities Hemstitch Rectangles Etched Dies Venise Lace by Becca Feeken.
The sentiment has been adhered to the the top right corner of the stamped layer.  Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares and Crafty Foam Tape have been used for dimension.

Spellbinders Emmeline Treillage Tutorial

Hello friends! It is always an honour to share a tutorial for Spellbinders - their inspirational Dies are beautiful to create with and always give a professional look to your cards.  They certainly take the hard work out of card making - as you will see in my tutorial.

Today I am sharing a very quick and easy card - it is so pretty with the gorgeous Card Creator Die by Becca Feeken.  One of the fabulous things about these Dies is it has a filigree insert and a cutting edge - that can be used together or by it self,  I have used the cutting edge ti create a pretty card base as well - you can see how I have done that by following along with me to the end of the tutorial.

1. Cut/emboss one Emmeline Treillage Etched Dies Venise Lace by Becca Feeken using the Platinum 6 and Anna Griffin Inc. paper.
2. Remove the excess pieces using the Tool N One.

3. Cut/emboss two Emmeline Treillage Etched Dies using the cutting edge only and white card stock.
4. Score one Emmeline Treillage Etched Die at 1.5 cm .
5. Fold forward and add double sided tape.
6. Attach the second Emmeline Treillage Etched Die making sure the edges line up - to form card base.

7. Adhere a strip of Scrapbook Adhesives By 3L Adhesive Sheet (approx 5cm) across the centre of the card front and inside front.
8. Centre lace over the front Adhesive Panel, then around the back of the card front - securing the ends using String red tape.

9. Pop up the Anna Griffin Inc. embellishment using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares to the lower portion of the card.
10. Trim Want2Scrap Swirls Finesse in white to the desired size, adhere either side of the popped up sentiment.

I told you it was easy didn't I!

Spellbinders Supplies:

Other :  Liquid Glue; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: E-Z Adhesive Runner, 3D Foam Squares; , White card stock; Anna Griffin Inc: Lovely Layers 5x7; Want2Scrap: Swirls Finesse - White Pearls - Self Adhesive; recycled lace, liquid glue
