Just be You

Hello friends - thank you for stopping by!  I have not been posting as much over the last few days as it has been so busy in our household - re-doing (I cannot think of the right word at the moment) the main bedroom - so our little house is overflowing with things everywhere - but it will be worth it!  Not to mention that is was also my birthday on the 4th of March and I had a wonderful day with the family - I committed (to myself) to keep off the computer for the day - it is a lot harder to do than you realise LOL! Anyway - onto today's card....

My card has been created using a pre-loved stamp set that I purchased and have only just managed to use - such a pretty set and sentiment.  I have kept to monochrome, apart from the little touch of yellow on the butterfly.  I have used Imagine Memento Ink in Sky Blue and Dandelion.  I must mentioned here that I did stamp the image twice and hand cut the butterfly out of the second one, layering it onto the first butterfly

The sentiment has been cut/embossed using the Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels One Etched Dies and the Platinum Die Cutting Machine and popped up onto the card front using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares. The card front has been created using some of my favourite leftover patterned papers - a little patchwork!  I have also used the Spellbinders Cabbage Roses Embossing Folders and lightly sanded it for some added texture.

The 'Faux Stitching has been done by hand using a Paper Piercer and template, along with a blue pen. and the card embellished using a recycled button and some white Ric Rac.

This card is linked to tthe following challenges:

Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes

Winged Beauty

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by. Once everyone goes to bed it is not uncommon for me to head down to The Studio - as much as I get deadlines met and other projects completed - I do like to spend the time doing something for 'ARTS' sake - I am sure you know what I mean!  I often try to create using my 'proiffial' vision rather than be exact and keeping within the lines I do find it very freeing.  For today's card I have used a Penny Black Inc. cling stamp set.

I have inked the images from the Penny Black inc. Winged Beauty cling stamp set using Imagine Memento Ink in Teal Zeal, Rhubarb Stalk and Bamboo Leaves with a sponge dauber.  Next they have been stamped onto white card stock.  Once the ink is dry I have created a sky background using the edge of torn card stock and Imagine Memento Ink in Summer Sky, this has also been applied using a Sponge Dauber.

The card front has been cut/embossed using Spellbinders A2 Distressed Edges Card Creator Etched Dies and the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine - 6" Platform and popped up onto slightly larger black card stock using  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Crafty Foam Tape. The layered image is then adhered to the pre-cut card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra

The top sentiment has been stamped using black ink, trimmed and adhered to the top right corner of the card front, some sponging has been added o make it blend rather than stand out.  The lower sentiment has been computer generated, trimmed and adhered to the lower right corner also using  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra.

This card is linked to the following challenges:
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes
WordArt Wednesdays - Anything Goes
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes + optional: Use Some Scraps
Creative Moments - Always Anything Goes
House That Stamps Built - Anything Goes
