Get Well

The card I am sharing with you today is created using some of my favourite Spellbinders Paper Arts Dies - the Die D-Lites that are designed by Stacey Caron.

I have used the Spellbinders™ A2 Floral Ribbon Threader  Nestabilities® for my base card, I love the pretty scalloped edges that it gives.  The Medallion Two  Die D-Lites Shapeabilities® has been cut and mounted onto white card to show off the pattern.

 

 

The JustRite® Papercraft sentiment has been stamped using Tsukineko Versafine - Onyx Black and cut out using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine and Standard Circles SM Spellbinders™ Nestabilities

Seam Binding, a Mulberry Rose and Want2Scrap© pearls.

LOC Sneak Peek # 3 Mr and Mrs

It is getting closer to the Layers of Color New Release Blog Hop and I still have so much to show you

Today's card is using the Sweet Silhouettes art stamp set - there are so many options with this divine set - a sentiment for most occasions

I have used the Spellbinders Rectangles LG Nestibilitie to cut out the silhouettes

adding some flowers (a  must at any wedding) from the Merci Bouquet art stamp set

and cut out the sentiment with the Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three Die, using the Grand Calibur

Lots of layers and dimension here!

LOC FAF Sent with Love

It is a very special Faith Art Friday for Layers of Color  - it is Good Friday and the Design Team are making a statement of Faith - and we would love you to join us.  Your can click here to see the inspiration that the Designers have shared.

In these times of uncertainty, one certainty we have is the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus - worldwide this is one event we remember and celebrate each year...

I am always deeply moved by the crucifixion of Jesus, the cruel death He suffered for mankind - for you and me.  Without His crucifixion there would be no resurectrion and salvation for mankind - for you and me!  Most people would be familiar with the Scripture in John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 3:16-17

I am greatly encouraged by the 'whosoever' - it is a broad spectrum of people - you and me!!  One of the scriptures that instantly comes to mind at Easter and gives me great hope and encouragement is when Mary the Mother of Jesus, Mary ( Magdalene) and Salome went to the garden and discovered the stone had been rolled away and when they entered the tomb they saw an angel who told them

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you'

 Mark 16:6-7

'....and Peter' what hope this brings me - Peter, with all his faults, even denying Jesus in those last hours of his life - imagine how he must have felt when he heard that Jesus has risen from the grave - and then to hear '...and Peter.' what relief and joy must have filled his heart!  Jesus especially wanted him to know - this is heart to heart and speaks to loudly of the Love of God, so personal, so intimate and so amazing!

This Easter I pray that as you substitute Peter's name for yours, your heart will be encouraged as you celebrate the resurrection of the Christ - who came into the world to save it!

HE IS RISEN - HE IS RISEN INDEED!!

SSIC LOC Postcard - Just Because

Sunday brings us the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge and that is always a pleasure to bring you!  This weeks challenge is brought to us my the fabulous Peggysue.

who has chosen this scripture from Matthew 16:23

Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan!"

 and has challenged us to versamark for a tone on tone background somewhere on your card

I was inspired by the gorgeous sticker that was on one of the most gorgeously wrapped 'Pay it Forward' packages that I received this week from the lovely Abby at Little Birdie Blessings  - Abby is inspiring in so many ways and also has the most divine free vintage images - I know she would love to see you as much as you are going to LOVE to visit her!

I have used Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Peeled Paint on olive green card stock for my tone on tone...I love the way it looks with the Layers of Color Belle Brocade art stencil.

For my sentiment I have used the Layers of Color Sent With Love art stamp set (a favourite of mine), I have  layered it onto some old recycled lace and a Crinkled Seam Binding Bow.  The gold feather embellishment is tied with some Bakers Twine threading it through a button - I don't know about you but I love buttons on cards and am only just 'finding my way' with them - I have been inspired by my dear friend Nina Brackett, who just happened to illustrate the Layers of Color Sent With Love art stamp set and the wonderful Queen of Shabby Chic -  Bety - I love the way they embellish - thank you ladies for the inspiration!!
