Stenciled Art Journal Page

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  Today I am sharing a Stenciled Art Journal Page - it is the first time I have done anything like this - I got the beautiful stencil over 2 years ago when I am on the Australian Mixed Media Road Show - it is designed by Lorri Lennox - her work is very inspiring   I was always going to create with it....and finally I have ....

I started by using a black marker and drew the face outline, hair, featured etc.  Colouring it as interesting - I am building up to using all paint and started by colouring her face using Chameleon Art Pens, followed by the eyes, mouth and lips.  The hair was harder than I imagined but I got there eventually - I will master it on future ones - hopefully!

One of the Little Birdie Crafts Wendy Moon Light Flowers was glued to her fringe - it was my starting place for the rest of the background.  I sponged all white card stock using Imagine Radiant Neon Inks in Electric Yellow, Coral Pink and Blue, blending as I went using a Sponge Dauber.

Butterflies from the Spellbinders Sparrow Stamp and Die Set from the Earth Air Water Collection by Stephanie Low have been randomly stamped over the background using Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and colour added with the Chameleon Pens One butterfly has been stamped onto white card stock, coloured and cut using the co-ordinating die, this has been popped up next to the flower.  Liquid Glitter has been added and extra details using a White Paint Pen.

The sentiment stickers are from Cosmo Cricket and the Ricrac from my stash.  The larger stencil is from my stash and has been singed using Imagine Memento Ink in Teal Zeal using a Sponge Dauber and edged using a White Paint Pen.  Lastly Washi Tape has also been added.

Simply Growth

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by!  It is Sunday evening here and what a weekend I must say - like a number of places in Australia we have been on high alert for bush fires and even on the verge of  waiting for the word to evacuate - thankfully the risk was downgraded and the weather settled - I am still watching for updates in other areas...we are due for a long and HOT summer and will need to be on the alert.

I have managed to have a little time in The Studio and managed to create something a little different using a Penny Black Inc clear stamp set.  I have stamped the image using Imagine Memento Ink in Lulu Lavender and Grey Flannel inks.  The have been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors and popped up onto a cut/embossed Die cut using the second and third smallest dies from the Spellbinders A2 Modern Stationery Card Creator Etched Dies and the Platinum Die Cutting Machine - using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares.

The layered image has been adhered to the left side of the card front using double sided tape.
The sentiment is from the edge of patterned paper - possibly Authentique Paper - please let me know if you are sure where it is from.  This has been adhered to slightly larger card stock and adhered using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra.  Hand doodling has been added around the edge of the card front, which has been layered onto a pre-cut green card base.

This card is linked to the following challenges:

Art Journal - Be Different

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  Today I am sharing another page from my Art Journal - as I have mentioned with each new page - we are all on a journey, whether it is art, faith, health or something else. I was inspired to journal when I created the Mixed Media project using some of the Spellbinders Seth Apter Collection - you can see the post HERE.

This page is very simple, starting with patterned paper adhered to the page using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner.  Lots of layers have been added but it is still not bulky - one of the reasons I love Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The inspiration for this page was inspired by the stamped Flourishes.lc elephant - which is adorable you have to admit!

A recycled tag has been covered using left over pieces of patterned paper, it has been and sponged around the edges using Imagine Memento Ink in Espresso Truffle and a ticket added to the bottom of the tag.

The elephant has been stamped and fussy cut/hand cut using scissors and popped up onto the tag.  A few stamped ink splotches using Imagine Memento Ink in Wedding Dress and a few little 'additions' from my stash.  The sentiment is from some packaging.

The bird is has been stamped using  Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and coloured using Chameleon Pens.  This has also been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors and popped up onto the Journal Page slightly overlapping onto the lower right end of the tag using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.

I just love this journal created using recycled cardboard - I have great plans for it .... hope you join me and help me 'spread my wings' in this journey!!

Art Journal - You Really Measure Up

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  Today I am sharing another page from my Art Journal - as I have said before, we are all on a journey, whether it is art, faith, health or something else. I was inspired to journal when I created the Mixed Media project using some of the Spellbinders Seth Apter Collection - you can see the post HERE.

This page is very simple, not a lot of layers, which I usually love, but lots of added details.  The background has been stamped using a gorgeous butterfly background stamp by Penny Black Inc. using Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black.

It has then been coloured using the Crayon Resist Technique where I have coloured parts of the butterfly using White Crayon and then sponged over the stamped background using coloured inks. Take a paper towel and buff the image to remove any ink off the white crayon.  I have randomly stamped postmarks and words using Imagine Memento Ink in Bamboo Leaves and Rhubarb Stalk.

A few stamped ink splotches using Imagine Memento Ink in Teal Zeal and a few little 'additions' from my stash.  The sentiment is an older one from Crafty Secrets and has been trimmed, sponged around the edges with brown ink and adhered above the beautiful ribbon of large red roses - also from my stash - I believe it is from a RAK ( Random Act of Kindness).

Lastly I have cut red card stock using Spellbinders Shapeabilities Die DLites Hearts Etched Dies and the Platinum Die Cutting Machine and adhered to the journal page using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra I just love this journal created using recycled cardboard - I have great plans for it .... hope you join me and help me 'spread my wings' in this journey!!

Art Journal - Be Original

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  I am sharing another page from my Art Journal - I don't seem to be able to find enough time to do as much of it as I would like, it is often the late hours of the night - or lets be honest - the early hours of the morning where I sit and 'play!' it is all part of the journey! Wink:wink! . Today's page has also used one of the Spellbinders Seth Apter Collection - you can see my journal pages HERE.  They feature greatly in my Journal as Seth is not only a very dear friend but also a major mentor and inspiration.

For my page base I have used some reasonably genetic patterned paper and added some layers using ink, paint and stamps - it is definitely a different genre from card making - but lots of fun and a road I am loving to travel on.

The adorably 'quirky' image is  from Rubbermoon by Sunny Carvalho - this girl just makes me smile - isn't she adorable?!  She has been coloured using Chameleon Pens and layered onto two layers of coloured card stock.  The sentiment above her has been computer generated.

The sentiment on the left has been stamped using Imagine Memento Inks in Tuxedo Black and trimmed into strips then adhered using double sided tape.  This has been added - a simple form of journaling - but I am working on that - I have never found it easy, even on my scrap booking - but I am evolving in this and it will happen - not today, but along the way.  If you have any hints - please feel free to leave a comment here!

I have used the added the Seth Apter Fragment X Etched Dies to the page adding some hand drawn lines around the edges in white to add a more personal touch. A few stamped ink splotches, texture paste, Wooden Embellishments, Cogs and a few little 'additions' from my stash.   I just love this journal created using recycled cardboard - I have great plans for it .... hope you join me and help me 'spread my wings' in this journey!!

You can see Seth Apter's Spellbinders Collection HERE - they are divine!!

Discover Yourself

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  We are all on a journey, whether it is art, faith, health or something else. Today I am sharing part of my journey with an Art Journal page - I was inspired to journal when I created the Mixed Media project using some of the Spellbinders Seth Apter Collection - you can see the post HERE.

I have used the negative die from the Shapeabilities Seth Apter Take Flight Etched Dies as my focal point, adding some hand drawn lines around the edges to add a more personal touch. The sticker sentiments have been added - a simple form of journaling - but I am working on that - I have never found it easy, even on my scrapbooking - but I am evolving in this and it will happen - not today, but along the way.  If you have any hints - please feel free to leave a comment here!  The globe inside the Die is Spellbinders Die D-Lites World View Etched Dies and has been popped up using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares.

A few stamped ink splotches, texture paste, Prima Wooden Embellishments, Washi Tape, Cogs and a aeroplane embellishment from Want2Scrap I have also added corrugated cardboard that has been sponged using white paint and Imagine Memento Ink in Teal Zeal and a few little 'additions' from my stash.   I just love this journal created using recycled cardboard - I have great plans for it .... hope you join me and help me 'spread my wings' in this journey!!
