Little Birdie Crafts - Perfectly Altered Tutorial

Hello friends , welcome and thanks for stopping by.  I am back on the Little Birdie Crafts Blog to share a fun tutorial today –  a little Mixed Media piece –  an altered wooden cat.  I purchased it a long time ago with the view of altering it – thankfully the time is now! I have used Little Birdie Crafts Stencils, Sculpture Paste, Chalk Paint, Mixed Media Paint, flowers, butterflies and more – so many beautiful Little Birdie Crafts products to choose from.

Little Birdie Crafts - LOVE

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by!  Today I have a card to share with you using Little Birdie Crafts stamps, stencils and chipboard and Spellbinders Dies - a great combination - and I have to add - so quick and easy!

The card base has been cut/embossed using the Spellbinders Nestabilities Art Deco Fairmont Labels Etched Dies and the  Platinum 6 Die cutting and Embossing Machine.

The card front has been sponged using the Little Birdie Crafts Stencil - Dots 10cm x 18cm and Imagine Memento Ink in Summer Sky.  The Clear Stamps - Floral Greetings has been stamped using Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black Ink and coloured using Chameleon Pens.  Next it has been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors and popped up onto the lower portion of the card front using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam squares.

The Little Birdie Crafts chipboard sentiment has been given a coat of opaque white paint - sing a paint pen and glued onto the top of the card front.  Nice and easy, I chose a large sentiment as a statement but it also brings a balance o the floral image.

Stenciled Art Journal Page

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  Today I am sharing a Stenciled Art Journal Page - it is the first time I have done anything like this - I got the beautiful stencil over 2 years ago when I am on the Australian Mixed Media Road Show - it is designed by Lorri Lennox - her work is very inspiring   I was always going to create with it....and finally I have ....

I started by using a black marker and drew the face outline, hair, featured etc.  Colouring it as interesting - I am building up to using all paint and started by colouring her face using Chameleon Art Pens, followed by the eyes, mouth and lips.  The hair was harder than I imagined but I got there eventually - I will master it on future ones - hopefully! 

One of the Little Birdie Crafts Wendy Moon Light Flowers was glued to her fringe - it was my starting place for the rest of the background.  I sponged all white card stock using Imagine Radiant Neon Inks in Electric Yellow, Coral Pink and Blue, blending as I went using a Sponge Dauber. 

Butterflies from the Spellbinders Sparrow Stamp and Die Set from the Earth Air Water Collection by Stephanie Low have been randomly stamped over the background using Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and colour added with the Chameleon Pens.  One butterfly has been stamped onto white card stock, coloured and cut using the co-ordinating die, this has been popped up next to the flower.  Liquid Glitter has been added and extra details using a White Paint Pen.

The sentiment stickers are from Cosmo Cricket and the Ricrac from my stash.  The larger stencil is from my stash and has been singed using Imagine Memento Ink in Teal Zeal using a Sponge Dauber and edged using a White Paint Pen.  Lastly Washi Tape has also been added.

Sisters Layout

Hello friends, thanks for stopping by.  Today I have a layout to share with you - using some of the adorable photos of my girls when they were little.  I have used a Want2Scrap 12 x 12 Overlay and before you say anything - yes I know the layout is pretty full on - but so were they!!! 

These gorgeous little things got all of their fathers Italian blood and lets just say they were passionate - I affectionately referred to them as the 'Mafia Girls'! LOL!

I have placed a 12x12 sheet of pink card stock underneath the These are the Days We Will Always Remember 12x12 Overlay  Next I have cut/embossed the photos using Spellbinders Dies and love the effect when the photo has been lightly sanded. The photo above has been cut/embossed using the Nestabilities Hemstitch Rectangles Etched Dies Venise Lace by Becca Feeken and popped up using a layer of thin recycled cardboard and angled across 2 photo spaces using 3Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra.

The Sisters - Beautiful Script Chipboard Word has been ombre using 3 shades of pink ink and coated using Image irRESISTibles Pico Embellisher in Shimmer.  Once dry it has been glued across the lower portion of the photo with a sticker saying FOREVER below it.

This photo has also been cut/embossed using Spellbinders Nestabilities Hemstitch Rectangles Etched Dies Venise Lace by Becca Feeken and lightly sanded.  It has been adhered in the top left opening and slighly tucked under the photo below.  Various sentiment stickers have been used to add a sentiment on the photo and Beautiful Bling Borders - Fancy That! have been adhered above the photo - a little bit like tiaras - but we won't go there! Wink:Wink!

The second photo has had the same process but instead of bling added a row of hearts has been stenciled below it using the Want2Scrap Hearts Stencil and Texture  Paste. Stickers have created the sentiment - I use them as a little 'faux' journaling and love to be eclectic with them.

The beautiful butterflies are from the Shapeabilities Wandering Butterflies Etched Dies Good Vibes Only Collection by Stephanie Low.  The top layers are cut using white card stock and a Little Birdie Crafts Beaded Flower added  to the centre of the butterflies body. Buttons - Round - 30 - Chipboard have been coloured using Imagine Memento Luxe Ink in  Rose Bud. 

Lots of details, lots of embellishments and lots of memories!

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  It has been a couple of days since I posted, but feels like forever - I have been battling the 'lurgies' that are going around, but hopefully have turned a corner for the better and have also been quietly working away on publications - which is always good - right?! Wink: Wink!

What are you wishing for?  I love this sentiment - one simple word and it says so much...I have used one of the  Spellbinders  Good Vibes Only Collection by Stephanie Low to create a pretty busy very easy card to share with you today.

I have cut/embossed the Shapeabilities Rosy Summer Flowers Etched Dies Good Vibes Only Collection by Stephanie Low only using black card stock. Cut/emboss the Backer using white card stock. 

Sponge the Backer using Electric Pink, Electric Yellow and Bamboo Leaves, there is no need to be exact with the placement of the colours. Glue the Rosy Summer Flowers to the backer using liquid glue.

Sponge some Yellow paint onto a pre-cut card base using a Sponge Dauber, followed by small amounts of white paint - allow it to dry. Randomly spritz using blue paint or ink. Pop up the layered Rosy Summer Flowers onto the centre of the card front using 3D Foam Squares. 

Adhere a computer generated sentiment above the to the left of the Rosy Summer Flowers - wha-la - and there you have it - it is really that quick and easy!!

Little Chef Album Page

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  I am sharing a page from my Want2Scrap Wanted for Stealing Hearts Chipboard Album.  Such a cute album and I am having a lot of fun creating it, adding a little bit of mixed media.

The theme of the Album is my Grandson Noah - these photos were taken on his second birthday - all he wanted was a kitchen and how adorable was he using it.  I have to be honest and say - he is turning 3 next week, so I am not as quick as I would like to be! Wink:wink!

The photos have been cut/embossed using Spellbinders Nestabilities Scored and Pierced Squares Etched Dies and the  Platinum Die Cutting Machine.  Both photos have been lightly sanded around the edges - such a great effect on a photo and popped up onto the Album page using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares.  I have added extra details using the Want2Scrap  Chevron - Stencil,  Imagine Radiant Neon ink in Electric Yellow and a white Gel Pen, randomly onto the page.

and finished by adhering some of the Want2Scrap Enamel Dots 8mm Stone Size - White.  I love the 'pop' that they can add.  The other products I have used are listed below.
