Lots to Show and Tell - an Update

I have been busy with exciting things over the past week and am excited to be able to share some of these things with you... I had the privilege of meeting the owner and artist of Darkroom Door Rubber Stamps - Rachel Greig while at the Craft and Quilt Fair.

Rachel was the Guest Artist at the Fair and was diagonally across from the Booth where I was helping my friend and Stampin' Up Demo Ann.  In the quiet moments I wandered over and tried to learn a little bit more of her wonderful techniques as she demonstrated and ran make & takes with Darkroom Door Rubber Stamps, Viva Decor products and Ranger products!     - I am very fortunate to have come home with some of  her product and have had fun today and will be back with a card using one of her photo images tomorrow....here are some of her fabulous samples.

It is also exciting for me as I am going to doing some demo's and teaching some Classes Using darkroom door images at my LSS - this is an honour for me - Rachel is an Australian Artist and I am in awe of her talent - just quietly, I believe she is Australia's Tim Holtz - so watch out!!  LOL!

The Craft Fair was an incredible experience as you will see by the photos I managed to get - I could not resists taking this one of the Catchy Crafts Booth - they are the biggest Store in New South Wales and carry such a HUGE range of Spellbinders - check this out....

I would love to say I got one of each but....BUT I did get an offer to teach at their store and may be looking at doing some Guest spots - how cool is that!!

Some of these divine roses did find their way into my craft supplies....who can resist - look how many rows of them - such a great way to buy them!!

Bling-a licious!!

Fabulously Metallic...

Flower Power

lace...lace...and more lace...

Every crafting need at the Stampin' Up Booth where I helped my friend Ann, along with Lorraine and her daughter Denise

Ann had surgery on her foot the week before and was not meant to be on it....but check this gal out...

What a gal!!

I look forward to coming back tomorrow and showing you a card or two.....Thank you for visiting today - I wish you could have been at the Craft and Quilt Fair with me - it was so much fun - I loved seeing all of those who stopped by to say hello and what a buzz to catch up with some of you who I am getting to know in Blogville - I just LURRRVVVE it!

SSIC LOC Sweet Song

Sunday comes around so quickly and with it comes the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge - a perfect way to start the week!  This week we are blessed to have one of our Guest Designers sharing the devotional Teresa has chosen...

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord
Colossians 3:16

Teresa has challenged us to use music in some form. Sheet music, music notes, instruments, or singing

I could not resist the Layers of Color Honeysweet art stamp set - how divine are these bees, along with The Love Chapter art stamp set.

I sponged the Layers of Color Vintage Medallion art stencil onto a page from an old hymnal using Tim Holtz Distressing Ink - Scattered Straw

Hand ruffled Seam Binding and a flower from the Flowering Gems art stamp set are the finishing touches.

LOC NR - Floral Cup

I have been busy helping a friend at the Craft and Quilt Fair and am grateful that I have some cards to show you from the Layers of Color's July  new release - this is one of my favourite sets - Teacup Blessings art stamp sets.

The cards with this set on have been the first ones to sell at the Craft and Quilt Fair, it seems that everyone likes to feel they are giving their friends their best bone china when they serve a cup pf tea, and the Teacup Blessings art stamp set certainly makes that possible as far as cards go.

The cup has been coloured with SU Chalks and a Blender Pen, but out and popped up onto some embossed DP from KandCompany.  The gorgeous lace is a gift from a dear friend.

One of the fabulous things about this set is that it comes with numerous sentiments that can be added to the saucer and also the inside of the cup - it gives such a variety of occasions and adds such charm to an already delightful image.  I chose to keep this cup plain so it was able to be used for any occasion.

This card is for the following challenges:
Crafty Ann's - scallops and or fancy borders
 Crafty Catz - embossing
Phindy’s Place - vintage look
Stamp Man - anything goes
Charisma Cardz - Distressing
Craft Us Crazy - Anything goes in August
Crafty Sentiments - Punches and Die Cuts
Do You Stack Up? - Emboss it

LOC FAF Victorious Love

While looking through an old Hymnal, I was inspired by the title of this hymn - Victory, Great Victory.  While I have never actually heard the Hymn I certainly love the title and as a Christian, it is a topic that is close to our hearts.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Romans 8:35-37

This scripture is specific telling us that we have been made MORE THAN CONQUERORS - in all of the trials listed, not just in one or two situations but in any and every situation we face.

The cause of our victory is specific - through the blood of Jesus Christ.  Christ's death on the cross brings us victory, it is not due to anything on our part but the shedding of the blood of Jesus.  There is more power in one drop of His blood than any weapon that the 'world' has created.  All the riches in the world not be enough to purchase one drop of the blood that was shed for our salvation.
Today, when we are acutely aware of the power sources available to mankind and the blatant displays of them, we can find peace in the knowledge that
indeed...
in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Romans 8:37

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometheven our faith
1John 5:4
AMEN!!

I stamped the image in Walnut Stain Distressing Ink and cut around the edge with scissors as I don't have the Labels 8 that it coordinates with it - but I have ordered it - just as well!!

SSIC LOC Steadfast Love

I am honoured to be hosting this weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, I love the inspiration that the Sistah's bring each week form the Word of God.  This week I have chosen:
'The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning'
Lam 3:22 -23

My challenge is to dig deep into your craft cupboard and use something from your stash that you 'just had to have' cause you would use it everyday....but have forgotten about...and I am sure we all have plenty!  LOL!

I have used the fabulous Encouragement art stamp set from Layers of Color - I did not have to dig too far for this, but I did have to dig for the DP - among the numerous sheets of it I have in Craft Central.....I would show you a sneak peek of it all but - I don't want to skeer you!  LOL!

The bird image is from the Layers of Color Royal Birds art stamp set.  The Spellbinders Class Oval has been cut with the Grand Calibur and the sign post from the Spellbinders Elegant Posts, designed by Nina Brackett.

The flowers are from one of the many gorgeous RAKs I have been sent from my dear stamping friends - I am very grateful to you all - I am so blessed!

The lace is also from my supplies - this one has not seen the 'light of day' for quite some time - and worked perfectly with this card!

The scripture from Lamentations is such a comforting one - today, everything moves very fast and is disposable - so it would seem is love!  The one security we have is that God, our Creator and Heavenly Father loves us with an unconditional love, a love that never ceases.  Can you imagine that - it is something that never ceases to amaze me.  His love is not dependent on our response, but on Who He is.
His mercies never come to an end -  such a mystery to the natural mind, but a fact and a promise from the Word of God.  When I became a Christian I was overwhelmed by the love of God and remember saying - 'if there is love like that in this world, then I want it!!' It was no whim or emotion - it was a direct response to the Steadfast Love of God, one that I know on a deeper basis today.
Over the years I have experienced firsthand, the steadfast love of God.  God's Word tells us that He is Love and in Him there is no darkness at all.  No doubt, fear or conditions - His love is NOT dependant on our actions, but whether or not we choose to receive it is dependant on our heart response.  Someone can give us the most beautiful gift - but to experience it, we have to make the choice to open it - it is then we come to understand what we have actually been given!  The Love of God, like that gift in the natural - once we have received it the responsibility to look after it and reap the benefits from it lies with us.  We are responsible for reading the instruction manual and applying the principles to our lives.

God's steadfast love is there for each of us - He is full of mercy, in His Love there is no need to run and hide away - He is indeed faithful in our unfaithfulness!  May our hearts respond declaring;
Great is thy faithfulness O Lord!
