Just a Note to say Hello

Hi Everyone it's Teresa today and I am sharing a Friendship
card that I did to finish out the New Year.  It has been a wonderful
year from me and this week gives me the chance to look back
and appreciate all that I did and good things that happened for the
past year--- whether it be new friendships, family or an abundance
of great memories! And now--- we get to look forward to a creative
and prosperous New Year for 2014!

One of the things I love about creating is the versatility of styles - we are able to indulge or be minimalist, perhaps even a little bit whimsical.

Today I am sharing a card created with a recycled image and it is definitely on the 'whimsey' side of things - I could not resist this adorable little bear.  She is 'fussy cut' and I have lightly sponged around the edges to removed any crisp white edges.

I have used  Want2Scrap© pearls and Scrapbook by Adhesives by 3L - E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares, along with a recycled aertifical flower.  The sentiment is from SRM Stickers and has been adhered to a Spellbinders Lacey Circles Nestabilities, cut using the Grand Calibur Machine.  The background has been embossed using the Harlequin Spellbinders® M-Bossabilities™ folders.

This card is for the following challenges:
Hiding in my Craft Room - For a Loved one
A Creative Need - Die cuts/ Punches
Brown Sugar – Embossing
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Animal Friends Challenge - Punches and Dies

The Spirit of Christmas

I am back with a quick Christmas Card with you today using a new stamp I got recently - I love this Quietfire Designs sentiment - you will be seeing it a lot in the next few months.

I have stamped it onto a Spellbinders Standard Circle, then layered onto the Lacey Circles Nestabilities.

Popping them both up with foam tape onto some retired Stampin' Up paper - I am sorting through my supplies and using up papers I have already cut before cutting into more - it is quite some job believe me and I am pretty sure I am not alone there! LOL!

The layered Snowflake is the Spellbinders Create  a Flake Four Shapeabilities with a little a bit of bling added and a Stick Pin.  This is attached to a Seam Binding bow.  All of my Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur.

ODBDSLC120 Sketch Challenge

It is my third week as the August Guest Designer for the Shining Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs, I am loving using their images and sentiments for my cards.  The ladies are wonderful and encouraging - they make it a great place to be!

This weeks challenge is a Sketch Challenge

My sentiment is from the Our Daily Bread Designs Time stamp set.

It has been stamped with Walnut Stain Distressing Ink and cut out using the Spellbinders Ironworks Accents Shapeabilities, sponged with Scattered Straw Distressing Ink before removing it from the Die.  This has then been popped up using foam tape onto the Spellbinders Floral Motifs Shapeabilities - all of my Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur

A gem circle and pearl flourish are from Want2Scrap, the side panel has been embossed using the Spellbinders Elegance M-Bossabilities Folder.  My paper is from Basic Grey.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, August 26 at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, August 19 at 8 p.m. EST. Cute! Cute! Cute!

With New Zealand as my homeland, how could I resist this darling little hedgehog by Penny Black, especially when I won this set over a year ago in Pauline C's gorgeous Blog Candy.

After a very 'full on' week I decided to do some colouring as therapy.... using Stampin' Up Chalks/Pastels and a Blender Pen

Spellbinders Classic Circles LG and Lacey Circle Dies have been but with my Grand Calibur (love that Die Cutting Machine)

The sentiment is from a Clear Stamp set picked up at BigW and has been but using the Spellbinders  Grommet Tags Die.

The Embossing Folder is from Stampin' Up! and the flowers are some lace from my stash

Lots of dimension and summery-ness (LOL)

SSIC LOC Happy Anniversary

This weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge is brought to us by Peggysue

The scripture she has chosen is:
"Make it your aim to live a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to earn your own living, just as we told you before.12 In this way you will win the respect of those who are not believers, and you will not have to depend on anyone for what you need."
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
Peggysue has challenged us to use nothing bright. Use 'quiet' colors in your creation, either pastels, or low key earthtones, soft, muted shades of beige or neutrals.

I have used the Layers of Color Gifts of Love art stamp set illustrated by Nina Brackett.
Along with the Spellbinders Lacey Circle and Standard Circle Lge Nestibilities, these have been cut out with the wonderful Grand Calibur.  For the sentiment I have used Fancy Tags One.  My background DP is wallpaper - isnt it divine - I would LOVE an embossing folder like this.

This card is for the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - September Anythings Goes
Designed 2 Delight - Wedding or Anniversary
Little Claire's - Wedding/Anniversary
Sweet Stampin - Anything but Birthday
Alphabet Challenge - P is for Pretty Pastels
