I am sharing a card created using the Penny Black Awakening image.

 

 

 

 

I have coloured it using various ink pads

 

 

 

 

and cut it out using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine and the Labels Twenty-Three Nestabilities®

 

 

 

 

The sentiment is from JustRite® Papercraft and is cut out using the Standard Circles SM Nestabilities®.  The bling is from Want2Scrap

 

 

 

Recycled lace and ribbon finish off the card.

ODBDSLC120 Sketch Challenge

It is my third week as the August Guest Designer for the Shining Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs, I am loving using their images and sentiments for my cards.  The ladies are wonderful and encouraging - they make it a great place to be!

This weeks challenge is a Sketch Challenge

My sentiment is from the Our Daily Bread Designs Time stamp set.

 It has been stamped with Walnut Stain Distressing Ink and cut out using the Spellbinders Ironworks Accents Shapeabilities, sponged with Scattered Straw Distressing Ink before removing it from the Die.  This has then been popped up using foam tape onto the Spellbinders Floral Motifs Shapeabilities - all of my Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur. 

A gem circle and pearl flourish are from Want2Scrap, the side panel has been embossed using the Spellbinders Elegance M-Bossabilities Folder.  My paper is from Basic Grey.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, August 26 at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing three or more of our participants for the Shining the Light Award . In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, August 19 at 8 p.m. EST. SSIC LOC Glory to God

This weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge is being hosted by Chris known to so many as Glowbug.  Chris has chosen the following Scripture:

I have used some new release images from Layers of Color - the wreath is from the Glad Tidings art stamp set and the sentiment from the Christmas Verses art stamp set

The Holly is from the Christmas Blessings art stamp set.

I have cut the wreath with my Spellbinders Grand Calibur and used the Standard Circles Nestibilitie - a perfect cut each time!  The KandCompany DP has been embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder!

SSIC LOC Doily Delight

TCM, Simply Delightful

I wanted to take this opportunity to show you a card I created prior to my recent eye surgery, using a stamp set illustrated by Nina Brackett for The Crafts Meow.

 The set is called 'Simply Delightful' - and it certainly lives up to its name!  This set is fabulous for masculine cards as well as those girly ones we love to make.

I have embossed the doily and sentiment with Stampin' Up Gold Embossing Powder and sponged around the edges, the other colours on the doily have been added with my Blender Pens, I have not even added any medium as I am naughty and did not clean them the last time I used them - so there was enough colour for this project - that has to be good - right!?!? LOL!

I have tucked in some pleated paper, left over from the edges of and old hymnal, underneath the sentiment.  I have been holding onto the gorgeous textured DP for some time, it is from my dear friend Priscilla.  I love the softness of it against the striped, torn Stampin' Up DP.

SSIC91 As It Is...

I hope you are having a great weekend - don't they come around quickly and go even faster - they are the quickest 48 hours of the week.  With the weekend comes Sunday and we know that Sunday means it is time for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge....this week our hostess is the very talented Kristine - who has chosen:
