AIR Tutorial Summer Challenge

I am back to share my third Artist in Residence post for July - the Challenge is Summer using IMAGINECrafts®/Tsukineko® Brilliance™ Pigment Ink.

Summer - the first thing that comes to mind for me is the beautiful clear blue summer sky and the bright glow of the yellow sun - I used this as my inspiration.

Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko Supplies:

  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Sponge Daubers™
  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® VersaMagic™ Chalk Pigment Ink Dew Drop in Thatched Straw.
  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Brilliance™ Pigment Ink full Ink Pad in Pearlescent Sky Blue
  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Brilliance™ Pigment Ink full Ink Pad in Pearlescent Ivy
  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Brilliance™Pigment Ink full Ink Pad in Sunflower Yellow
Preferred Promotional Partners:

Other:  Want2Scrap© - Swirls Finesse - white pearls, Pearls; double sided tape; foam tape; scissors; sanding block; Corner Rounder, acrylic block

Start by stamping the Penny Black®, Inc. - petal party image onto white card using both IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Brilliance™ Pigment Ink full Ink Pad in Pearlescent Sky Blue and Sunflower YellowI stamped more than I needed to make sure I got enough perfectly stamped images.

Stamp the leaves from the Penny Black®, Inc. - petal party image onto white card using IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Brilliance™ Pigment Ink full Ink.  Next cut/ fussy cut four (4) leaves, two (2) Sunflower Yellow flowers and one (1) Sky Blue flower.

Cut and emboss one (1)  Labels Thirty Spellbinders® Nestabilities® using the Spellbinders™ Grand Calibur Cutting Machine.   Before removing the white card, use the Die as a Stencil, sponging the inside of the Die using the IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® VersaMagic™ Chalk Pigment Ink Dew Drop in Thatched Straw and an IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Sponge Dauber™.  The sentiment has been cut out by hand from Authentique Paper and popped up on foam tape.

Cut the Authentique Paper into 15cm x 5cm lengths, taping at the back with double sided tape to join.  Round the lowers corners with the Corner Rounder.  Attach to card base of 30cm x 10.5cm folded in half to measure15 x 10.5cm, use the Corner Rounder on the lower corners.

Next adhere the layered Die onto the card as shown below.  Add the yellow flowers using double sided tape and the blue one using foam tape for added dimension.  Attach the leaves under the flowers as shown in the photo below.

I have finished off the card by adding Want2Scrap© - Swirls Finesse above and below the layered sentiment, finishing off with buttons, a pearl and silver charms as flower centers.

I am feeling the 'heat' with the summer colours and that gorgeous little bit of shimmer from the

IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Brilliance™ Pigment Inks - there are so many more colours just waiting for me to 'ink up!'  I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial and are inspired to get out the Brilliance Inks!
