SSIC Falling for you

With fall arriving in the Northern Hemisphere, we have so much to be inspired by.  This week's hostess for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge is one of our founding members and leader Kris, who has chosen this week's scripture:

"So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up." Galatians 6:9

Kris has challenges us to make a Harvest card or Fall/Autumn

I have chosen to use the autumn palette, the softer shades of browns and greens with a gentle touch of pink peeking through.

I have used an image from Crafty Secrets, along with the Spellbinders Les Papillions Shapeabilities and the negative Die from the A2-Polka Dots Nestabilities® as my border (on the right hand edge of the card).  All Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur.  The Want2Scrap bling is designed by the amazingly talented Nina of NinaB Designs.

This card is for the following challenges:
ATCs & Cards With Attitude - Anything Goes/buttons and bows
Crafty Ann'sSketch* and/or Autumnal colour scheme
Fun with Shapes & More - must include die cut/punch – include an Animal
Inspire Me FridaysAlways Anything Goes

SSIC Banners

I wish I could tell you that I had made this card for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge weeks ago but the truth is that I thought I had and suddenly realised yesterday I had NOTHING done - arggggggh!

So I checked out this weeks challenge, hosted by our fearless leader Kris, who has chosen:

"Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10

Use FLAGS or BANNERS in your creation
(ie. create your own flags or banners… or in your paper, image)

I quickly grabbed things that were lying around in piles on my desk (as you do!) and created flags by folding thin strips of paper in half and dove tailing the ends of them.  Each flag is attached using double sided tape and embellished using buttons and mulberry flowers, finishing off with a row of pearls.

A strip of Spellbinders Classic Edges One Edgeabilities® and Classic Decorative Insert Three Edgeabilities®  have been added along the lower edge of the card and some gorgeous vintage lace added, a butterfly and pearls (of course!).  These Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.

It all came together very quickly - PHEW! LOL!

This card is for the following challenges:
Fun with Shapes & More - must include die cut/punch
Stampin' For The Weekend - Show us Your Style
It's All About the VintageSummer & butterflies
Shelly's Images - Anything goes
Crafts and Me - anything goes
Thank you to this weeks sponsor.

SSIC Beyond Measure

Weekends are wonderful - don't you think!?  We have had a lovely sunny one, which is a blessing after all the rain and flooding we have experienced....I could not resist getting out in the garden to photograph my card for this weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge.

Our hostess this week is the beautiful Miesje who has chosen:
“You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light, for light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and truth.”
 Ephesians 5: 8-9
Miesje has challenged us to create a card or project that uses both dark and light. Opposite colors; black/white, brown/ivory, deep blue/baby blue, red/pink etc.

In keeping with this weeks challenge, I decided to not to sponge but to go 'crisp' keeping the contrast to the maximum - it was not easy can tell you, my hand kept wandering towards those daubers and inks...but...no, I managed to resist - the only thing distressed at the end of this cardmaking session was me! LOL!  The gorgeous ribbon is from my friend Ann - I love the flocking on it - so plush and elegant with the touch of silver. The Dp is from DCWV - La Creme Stack

My sentiment is from the Layers of Color Sweet Silhouettes clear art stamp set illustrated by Nina Brackett It has been stamped onto the Spellbinders Labels Sixteen Die and layered into the Spellbinders Parisian Motifs Die with foam tape between each layer. I have used the Spellbinders Grand Calibur to cut my Dies.

This card is for the following challenge:
Bloggers - 3D
Clearly Inspired -  Anything
 Stamp Man - Vintage
Totally Papercrafts – Favorite Things - Spellbinder Dies
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything made with paper goes
Divas by Design - Favorite things
Just Some Lines Spring Cleaning time, use at least 2 items that are at least 6 months old - Ribbon and DP

SSIC Bliss

Happy Sunday everyone - I hope your weekend has been a relaxing one!!  I love Sundays for so many reasons and one of them is because it is time for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge - this weeks challenge is hosted by our dear Sistah Kristine

"They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him." MAIN VERSE: Mark 15:17
CONTEXT PASSAGE: See Mark 15: 16-20

Kristine has challenges us to use shades of purple as your main color AND/OR use wood paper or elements on your card.

It was time I inked up this fabulous set from Stampin Up, I was given as a gift for my birthday - so delish!  I have used Tsukineko Imperial Purple on the flourish and Spanish Moss for the butterfly - such great tones in these inks

The background DP is embossed with the Stylised Flowers Embossing Folder and the green card stock with the Victoria EF - I love the added depth embossing adds - and of course the gorgeous lace - part of a RAK from my dear friend and SU Demo Ann

You can see the added layers and dimension here.  I have used the Spellbinders Grand Calibur for cutting the Labels 4 and Classic Oval Nestibilities - where were we before we discovered Spellbinders - I love how their Die Cuts add instant 'gorgeousness' - in my opinion!  LOL!

A  BIG THANK YOU to this week's sponsor Simon Says Stamp who has offered the "Why Do Birds Fall in Love" Stamp set - we appreciate their ongoing support!!

LOC One Heart

Hi everyone - it is Friday here already - the week has just flown by! I wanted to take a minute to thank those of you who sent birthday wishes my my DH, he appreciated each and everyone of them and had a great day - he asked me to pass on his thanks!!

This card is made with my favourite stamp companies, Layers of Color, I have used their Fleur Heart art stamp set - isn't it just gorgeous!!  I have kept the card fairly simple as I felt too ,much more would make it cluttered - what do you think!?!?

I have made it for a couple of challenges, the first being the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge where we are to be inspired by this scripture:

Mark 10: 7-9 "7. 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 8. and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. 9. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." (NASB)

We have been challenged by Randi to create a card/project/layout that reflects the sentiment of this scripture by following this formula: Use whatever supplies/stamps you like to create whatever kind of card or project that you like BUT use must use TWO kinds of each item to make your ONE creation, for example. An example would be as follows: 2 different colors of cardstock, 2 different pieces of patterned paper, 2 pieces of ribbon, 2 brads.....

I have used two of everything, or used things in multiples of two - do you see the gold heart in the centre of the Fleur Heart?  The exception to this is the one black and gold button that I have used singularly, as a symbol of the two becoming one!

I have also made this for this weeks Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge where we are to use hearts...I have also used the fabulous scripture from ODBD, perfect for this occassion - who doesn't rejoice at LOVE!  Marriage is not only a commitment before God, where we exchange vows,  but also a time of celebration at this blessed union.....at our wedding my DH was playing drums with the band towards the end of the reception and our Wedding reception became one big CELEBRATION and time of rejoicing - infact we had such a great time, we were amongst the last to leave!! LOL!

Thank you for looking and for all of the encouragment you give me, it mean so much to me -  God bless you!!   {{{hugs}}}
