The image has been cut out and embossed using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine  and the  Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight Nestabilities®.  The Die has been used as a Stencil before the image is removed.

Happy 18th Birthday to my Son

I am popping in quickly to share a card I created for my son's 18th bithday.  He is a HUGE fan of Lord of the Rings and can't wait to see The Hobbit.

So....my husband googled a free image and as he went to print it we saw that we were out of coloured ink - Oh no - it was late at night and we were leaving for Sydney early the next morning to celebrate the birthday.......

Out came the SU Chalks/Pastels and I began to colour in....and had so much fun - what do you think of the end result - I am happy with it...and my son - he LOVED it!

The only other thing needed was a sentiment, I stamped the JustRite® Stampers sentiment and embossed it using Tsukineko Gold Embossing Powder

Just so you know - this is what I started with....

Happy birthday Jacob!!

It is time for another Crafty Friends Challenge - this week Beate  is our hostess and she has challenged us to make  a CAS make it clean and simple project~  I have to be honest and say this is nore of a challenge for some of us than others! LOL!  But I will see what I can do - no promises though!

For my card I have used the Penny Black® Inc. Hanging Treasures stamp set designed by NinaB Designs. The image is embossed using Tuskineko Gold Embossing Powder and cut out using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine and the 2011 Heirloom Ornaments Nestabilities® .

The sentiment is also embossed using Tuskineko Gold Embossing Powder and cut out using the Back to Basics Tags Shapeabilities®.  After cutting and embossing, the Die is used as a Stencil before the tag is removed from the Die.  I have used Antique Linen ink for the sponging.

The  ornament and tag are layered into the embossed background using foam tape - I have used the Regal M-Bossabilites.
