SSIC The Door

Can you believe it is Sunday already - that means it is time for this weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge - it has been so inspiring seeing all of the cards that are being added to each weeks challenge.

This weeks challenges is brought to us by Rebekkah:
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.''  Mt. 7:7-8 7

Rebekkahs' challenge is  have a window or a door on your creation.

Which was easy when you own the Darkroom Door The Door image - I love this set and have coloured it using the Crayon Resist Technique and along with the Cracked Glass Technique.

I always have a little chuckle when I attempt the Cracked Glass Technique - the first time I did I I had seen that someone put it in the freezer once they had added the glaze - so I did that and an hour layer when I brought it out it was covered in frost and icicles - I did not know whether to cook it for dinner or throw it out!  LOL!  I have actually kept it and have it framed on my desk as a reminder....LOL!

This card is for the following challenges:
Drunken Stampers - Tell us what you did this Summer
Totally Gorjuss - Its a Man thing
Cards - Favorite Vacation Destination - The Rocks in Sydney
Crafty Ann's - something outside comfort zone - Cracked glass Technique
 Stamp Something - anything goes
  Just For Fun - Vintage

One of the ladies I have come to know through my Classes at my local LSS and Workshops, Anne has these wonderful Tim Holtz Embossing Folders - and graciously lent them to me and I am making the most of them.....can you blame me!?

I love this Umbrella Man - so very Charlie Chaplin-ish and who doesn't love him!

I love the way the technique we are using on this tag has worked out with the colours - it is the perfect background for the CTMH sentiment - they just seemed to go hand on hand for this tag!  The end result is simple but that is part of the appeal of it for me - amazing I know when you consider I am all about layering and details!  LOL!

SSIC LOC Happy Anniversary

This weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge is brought to us by Peggysue

The scripture she has chosen is:
"Make it your aim to live a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to earn your own living, just as we told you before.12 In this way you will win the respect of those who are not believers, and you will not have to depend on anyone for what you need."
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
Peggysue has challenged us to use nothing bright. Use 'quiet' colors in your creation, either pastels, or low key earthtones, soft, muted shades of beige or neutrals.

I have used the Layers of Color Gifts of Love art stamp set illustrated by Nina Brackett.
Along with the Spellbinders Lacey Circle and Standard Circle Lge Nestibilities, these have been cut out with the wonderful Grand Calibur.  For the sentiment I have used Fancy Tags One.  My background DP is wallpaper - isnt it divine - I would LOVE an embossing folder like this.

This card is for the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - September Anythings Goes
Designed 2 Delight - Wedding or Anniversary
Little Claire's - Wedding/Anniversary
Sweet Stampin - Anything but Birthday
Alphabet Challenge - P is for Pretty Pastels

LOC Bleach It Out

It is a beautiful spring Saturday morning here today - I am working ahead with my Card Design Classes at my LSS, I like to have the samples for the next Class ready to show the ladies and this is one of the cards I have created

I was inspired by this tutorial on SCS and have used the Layers of Color Cottage Rose cling art stamp - gorgeous isn't it!!

I love working with different mediums and trying different techniques - so working with bleach just appeals to me greatly - the rose has been embossed with Black Embossing Powder.

I have popped up the leaves to slip the Seam Binding underneath - I love the way it looks and this has got me thinking - I have some ideas cooking away and will be back to show you at some stage I am sure - you have to love the creative process.

My bow has been tied using the BowEasy - it makes bow making so easy, finishing off with a Kaiser Brad.

The Stampin Up Eyelet Border Punch has been used along the lower edge - and you know I am going to tell you that the edges have all been sponged with Ranger Walnut Stain Distressing Ink.

This card is for the following challenges:
Alota Rubber Stamps - Use Green, Yellow and Orange
By the Cute & Girly - All things bright and beautiful
Heidi's Hobbystuggu - Fall Colours
